Accomodations
Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay is a one-level facility where the dining, residential, and activity rooms are all under the same roof. Our wide hallways are designed so that residents may easily maneuver around the Snug Harbor home.
At Snug Harbor, each resident is afforded a private room with bath. For married couples, suites are available in independent and assisted living. Suites have a living room, bedroom, kitchenette, bath and additional closet space. Rooms are available furnished, or the resident can bring his or her own furniture to create a more familiar and personal atmosphere. All rooms have glass terrace doors leading to private patios. Each room is equipped with medical call lights and sprinkler systems. There are fireplace lounges with screened-in porches for every neighborhood of ten rooms. All rooms are equipped for cable television and private telephone. Our residents are permitted pets in their rooms with prior approval from the administrator.
Family members and friends of Snug Harbor residents are welcome to visit frequently. For visitors who have traveled quite a distance, Snug Harbor offers a furnished room that can be reserved for an overnight stay.
The Harbor also has an exercise room for physical therapy and individual workout use. A half-mile walking path surrounds the facility. With so many recreational opportunities available at Snug Harbor, residents can maintain an active lifestyle.
Our recreation department provides a variety of in-house activities, and it also coordinates off-campus programs for the residents. A library, greenhouse and woodworking shop are all available on campus. Snug Harbor also has a chapel that hosts weekly services for various faiths.
Our facility is HIPAA compliant. Staff is trained on the importance of confidentiality and accountability. Snug Harbor is a Medicare-certified facility.
